WHICH should you use? Clickbank? Paydotcom? Or both? That’s a question that I can’t answer directly. I would certainly suggest you set up a Paydotcom account regardless whether you decide to use Clickbank or not.
It’s free. So if you want to use it for testing you can do that. You can set up a Clickbank account any time you like. Now is the point where the rubber meets the road. Now you have your product, it’s ready to ship either digitally or physically. You have your account set up with either Clickbank or Paydotcom now there’s one thing missing.
You need to find people to buy your product. The first thing of course you’ll need to do is to create your website with your sales letter. There is a lot of information on the internet that can help you there if you need help.
If you try to do all of the marketing yourself, you’ll be in for a slow and very bumpy ride. That is not the way the distribution channels work in this world.
So if you were just coming into the market place with a new cheese, would it make sense for you to try to sell it yourself? Unless you could somehow package it in a gift basket or some way of differentiating it substantially from any other cheese, you’d have a very difficult time of building up a loyal customer base that you would sell too.
There are many similarities in Internet Marketing. You’ll do far better if you find people to market your product who already have a loyal customer base of people who would need your products.
These are people who have well established websites in the particular niche you’re targeting. Many of them have spent the time to build up a good solid loyal customer list, and every time they send an email to that list they make hundreds or even thousands of sales.
You need to form a partnership with the people who already have that loyal customer base. Those are the people who can create thousands of dollars in new sales almost immediately. That is what a joint venture is all about. You supply the product, the JV partner supplies the sales, and you both benefit. It’s the ultimate win win situation.
As you structure your offer, consider carefully what you want to accomplish from your affiliate sales. Are you more concerned about making a profit from the initial sale, or from the backend? Most affiliate programs involving digital products offer a 50% split, which is pretty good. You keep 50% and your affiliate keeps 50%.
