Niche marketing is just a phrase that has been coined for making money from websites that aren’t to do with the how to make money subject area. I know that isn’t what the word ‘niche’ means, but this is what the phrase has come to mean to internet marketers.

I spent time trying to find the ultimate unique niche that nobody had discovered before. It took me literally years to find one, of course. Some marketers might have made a fortune out finding new niches but the fact is I didn’t. They are too hard to find, take too long to find, and if you rely on making money only because the niche is unique, you are in deep trouble when other marketers move in.

Sometimes, stop visiting forums and reading threads. 95% of the threads are written by inexperienced people – who have no clue what they are talking about. Freedom of speech is very overvalued these days. Everyone seems to have an opinion and everyone wants to express it. Stop reading those useless threads. They are keeping you back. If you keep reading them, you are stealing money from yourself and the people you love. Only read them for entertainment value and only if you have already done the tasks that build your business for the day.

Stop buying every new ebook that comes out, except if it analyses something that is already part of your game plan. For example, if you are using Pay Per Click extensively and you see a new guide on Google Adwords that comes out, you may want to check that out. But don’t buy every new “make money” product just because it’s out there. People have been making money for decades without the “new” ebooks that come out all the time. Every time you really feel like buying a new ebook, wait for 2-3 days and then consider buying it.

Many purchases you make are “impulse” purchases and do not really solve a problem you have. Unsubscribe from all the free newsletters that you are not reading or that you get no value out of it. More isn’t better.

Discontinue your membership to paid sites that you don’t use or that you get no value out of. Get a personality of your own and stop doing things because everyone else seems to be doing it. Most of them are not making a dime. Why would you want to copy them? If you hear of “mass hysteria” of people buying a specific product, it doesn’t necessarily mean you should buy it as well.

Wake up. Start thinking for yourself. Otherwise, you are at the mercy of others.

Now create a site. After you have it rolling, don’t start another site. Instead, add more backend offers to that first site. People who are subscribers and customers of yours trust you and you can make money on some pretty high-end products just by sending an email. Forget about starting another “campaign” and then trying to warm up new people in a new market all over again.

If you have found a good profitable niche, the chances are 100% that you’re not the only person marketing to this niche. I would be quite worried if that were the case. On the contrary, there will be some really good competition, and some that is pure junk! So depending on our marketing method, that can be either a huge hurdle to face, or it can be one of our biggest assets.

This goes along with problem number one above. In any search on a search engine somebody is going to end up on the first page, and the rest will not. You don’t have an established website, and in the beginning, nobody knows you. 4. No Customer List

Most internet marketing experts will tell you that: “The Money is In The List”. However, if you don’t have a list, how will you be able to build one? If you don’t have any influence on any customers. If nobody knows who you are then mailing to your list is not an option.

Be there when that person needs you and help that person when they need help, and you’ll be satisfying the deep desire to feel important. Now if you can make your customers feel important, do you think they’ll be interested in buying from you again? Sites like Answerbag.com and Yahoo Answers have become very popular. People can ask questions on just about any topic and end up with at least one answer.

So what does that have to do with you, an internet marketer? How could that possibly help your online business? Do you notice the words “friends”, “sharing”, and “helping” in the comments I quoted? These are all relationship words, and creating relationships is the key to building a loyal customer base.

Be sure to mention the fact that you own a web site on a particular topic, and you may create a bit of traffic from your profile.

Remember we are talking about a relationship-based type of marketing, and as with any relationship you have to give it time to grow before you can expect someone to jump on board and buy your product. However with a little patience, you can be well on your way to building a loyal base of visitors by making them feel important.
